Hotel Astoria
Right after graduating in early 2020, I had the opportunity to work on this project for hug films. Hotel Astoria is an animated documentary, telling stories about this infamous place in Leipzig (GER) back in the GDR. Many things were possible that otherwise weren’t: Diplomats and spies, prostitutes and rock stars, the elite of the SED came together. And from time to time ordinary people as well. And the Stasi? They witnessed it all.
Hotel Astoria is going to premier at the DOK Leipzig film festival in late October.
